Accessing the Trail
There are several ways to follow the Trail!
You can download and print the PDF leaflet for your walk from the bottom of this page or on the invidual walks page. These include turn-by-turn directions, photos and a simplified map. For extra safety, we recommend that you carry an Ordnance Survey map of the area too.
On an app
If you already have the iFootpath App and have stayed logged in, then you can continue to download the walks until September 1st 2019. However, it will no longer be updated and may cease working after that.
But there is now a new home for the walks on the AllTrails App so we strongly recommend that even if you have iFootpath you also get the free version of the AllTrails App (where the walks are already downloaded and where the directions are called Waypoints). This free version of AllTrails will work as long as there is an internet (3G/4G) signal.
Note: within the AllTrails App you have the option to pay a subscription to upgrade to AllTrails Pro. This gives you the ability to follow the guides without using any internet data in areas where there is no 3G/4G coverage.
On a GPS device
If you have a Garmin or another GPS-based App e.g. the Ordnance Survey App, you can download the GPX File for your chosen walk to use on these devices. (Please note that the GPX Files are for personal use only and must not be published on any other platform).
The GPX files are available at the bottom of this page and one the individual walks page.
Walk 26 Halnaker-Chichester on the 1st September 2019.
On 1st September 2019 this walk is being sponsored by Woods Travel in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice (Chichester). If you sign up to walk this section you will be offered free parking in Chichester and then will travel in a coach with other walkers to the start of the walk.
The walk will also have marshals, guides carrying a first aid kit, a first aider, and volunteers from St Wilfrid’s Hospice. The walk ends at the Chichester Rail Station which is located very close to the free parking, so it will be easy to return to your car when you have finished.
Just sign up to the walk on 1st September and you will be contacted about the free travel offer if you wish to use it.
These include turn-by-turn directions, photos and a simplified map and are in PDF format.
Download GXP files for your walk for use with Garmin or another GPS-based App.
Please note that these files have been zipped.
